Malina Wieczorek’s Painting Exhibition

In the heart of Warsaw, on the bustling gallery trail, right next to the Museum of Modern Art, in the Stratos Office Center, Malina Wieczorek presents the exhibition “Axis of Transcendence.”
The artist, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, has been consistently developing her own, radical model of post-feminine figuration for years. In “Axis of Transcendence,” she accomplishes on canvas what remains unfinished in 20th- and 21st-century feminist philosophy: she transforms the body not into an object of representation, but into an autonomous epistemological field – an archive of somatic memory, a laboratory of transformation, and a space where the act of spiritual self-reconstruction takes place.
The titular Axis of Transcendence symbolizes a line running through the deepest layers of our existence. It is an everyday, intimate transformation that takes place at the level of body, memory, and consciousness—a process of “hatching” a new quality of being, in which the biological act of birth meets the phenomenological act of becoming. Malina Wieczorek employs a conscious reduction and deformation of form, stripping the figure of its face and individual characteristics to move from the illusion of the Cartesian subject to an embodied, relational, and processual subject. Her painting thus fulfills Virginia Woolf’s postulate of finding “one’s own room”—not as a physical space, but as an inner freedom in which a woman can finally speak her own bodily and spiritual language.
The exhibition will feature works from key series: “Hatching Identity,” “Terra Ignota,” and the particularly important “Madonnas” series. In “Madonnas,” the artist undertakes a profound iconographic reevaluation—transferring the center of the composition to the womb as the “zero point,” from which both biological life and cosmic energy emanate.
The artist works with earthy pigments, rough textures, and a limited palette, as if to recreate the materiality of the very act of creating the world. “I paint from blood, from the earth, from space, from pain and from healing,” she says, pointing to the deeply somatic and simultaneously transcendental nature of her medium.
“Her work proposes a new quality in Polish contemporary painting: figuration that doesn’t reproduce the body but creates it. It is painting as a philosophy, painting as a science of becoming, painting as a tool for reclaiming the lost sacredness of female subjectivity,” says Barbara Siatkowska, curator of the exhibition.
“Axis of Transcendence” is not just another exhibition about femininity. It is an intellectual discovery, a proposal for a new way of understanding the relationship between the body and memory in an era of identity crisis.
In the space of Stratos Art Project, at the heart of the dynamic life of the capital, the exhibition becomes an invitation to slow down and connect with the deepest layers of oneself. Malina Wieczorek, a well-known social activist, is also the initiator of the NeuroArte Movement, which combines art with brain science. Her work emphasizes the neuroprotective effects of art – conscious exposure to it supports neuroplasticity, helps build cognitive reserve, and protects mental health. In “Axis of Transcendence,” painting becomes not only an aesthetic experience but also a practice of conscious, more complete participation in life.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Malina Wieczorek is a painter, conceptual artist, social activist, and social marketing expert. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, she graduated with distinction in 1996. Her artistic education encompassed interior design, graphic design, and painting, which significantly influenced her interdisciplinary approach to form, sign, and pictorial space.
For nearly three decades, she has consistently developed a painterly language based on the female nude, abstraction, deformation, and the reduction of the body to a sign. In her work, corporeality is not a decorative subject, but a field of philosophical and emotional experience. The body is stripped of its literal meaning so that it can become a vehicle for questions about identity, memory, spirituality, femininity, freedom, and inner truth.
She has been exhibiting since 1994, and her works are held in private and corporate collections worldwide, including Pekao SA Private Banking.
In recent years, her work has been presented at venues such as: She has exhibited in Venice, London, Warsaw, Milan, Brussels, Miami, Madrid, Dubai, Mexico City, Barcelona, Tokyo, Osaka, and Times Square in New York. One of her works was published in the American edition of “Vogue Manhattan” in the “New Faces in Art” section.
The artist was also invited by Professor Pasquale Celona himself and included on the official list of participants of the 16th Florence Biennale 2027 as a representative of Poland. The event will take place from October 23–31, 2027, in Florence.Besides her paintings, Malina Wieczorek is the author of over a hundred social campaigns and the founder of the TELESCOPE agency. She is also the founder and president of the SM Foundation – Fight for Yourself, the founder of the School of Motivation, the president of the House of Creative Thought “Z miłości do życie,” and the initiator of the NeuroArte Movement. Her work combines art, social communication, health, and education.

The “Madonnas” series holds a special place in this perspective, combining metaphysical depth with minimalism and opening up a space between the sacred, personal experience, and symbolism.
The “Rynek i Sztuka” website notes that Malina Wieczorek’s nudes are not an attempt to aestheticize female corporeality, but rather a search for the truth hidden within the body. Faceless, deformed, and lonely figures convey a broad spectrum of emotions—from shame and fragility to strength, independence, and inner determination.
Véra Kempf, Co-Founder at Singulart, highlights the sophisticated combination of abstraction and figuration in Malina Wieczorek’s works. In her opinion, the artist treats the female body not only as a subject of performance, but also as a medium for deeper philosophical, feminist, and symbolic exploration.
